I must admit i use local sometimes when trading, other people doing it does piss me off, but it sells things faster.
Most of the time i have all but guild chat turned off anyway so i dont see any spam xD

TBH places like Kaening and Lions Arch were made for trading, until an auctionhouse is added i dont see it stopping and if your sat in Kaening trying to start conversation your in the wrong place anyway, theres plenty of other towns where people go for chatting.

I'd like to submit this thread as proof as to why Local Chat trade spam is a bad thing.

It drives people insane, to the point of physical harm.

And, I honestly don't buy any excuse about "well everyone does it, so I should too" because we all know where that leads. And, if it's too hard to press Shift 4 before you start typing, then I find you lazy and self centered. And I could care less what you think of me.

Trade spam is bad. Why won't people figure this out?

How can you claim these people are flaming??? No offence but thats really quite a stupid comment. They are making very valid points. The Trade channel, wait for it, is for trade! Suprised? Keep it in that channel and dont spam the All channel. If someone wants to buy something dont you think they will have the trade channel on and if they dont they turn it off. So how do you increase the chance of getting a sale in the All channel when the only people who want items will have the Trade channel on?
People who do it are very annoying. You try to have a conversation with someone but cant keep up with the constant spam in towns. The last update is a step in the right direction but Anet has forgoten that people arent sensible. You need to enforce such a thing not just hint that you would like them to stop. Same goes with a lot of other ingame policies but i wont go mentioning them in this thread.

And already people are actively trying to bypass the dump. Can't say I'm surprised, but for... goodness'.... sake, THERE IS A RUDDY TRADE CHANNEL FOR A REASON AND ANET MADE WTS AND WTB AUTOMATICALLY BE DUMPED INTO THE TRADE CHANNEL FOR A REASON YOU IRRITATING GITS!

...I feel alot better after saying that. ^.^

I like this change. Even though there are still people bypassing it [which is rather irritating], it still puts most wtb/wts stuff where it should be. Thank you, Anet.
